Well, thank you WordPress! Yea, I’ve seen this message MANY times, as I’m usually the first one to view AND delete it. But I decided to keep this one – it has connotation ~ especially to any programmer… it was the first program to write. Or rather to have the program write it.

Hey – wait: there actually is a lesson to learn here… While looking for content to write here I see there could be a problem.

I deleted the hello post and now I get a 404 message on my home page!

Yes, this is certainly possible. If you have your website displayed to be a blog … as this is usually how it’s set up, should you delete this without making another one, the system will direct all visitors to the “Sorry, but you are looking for something that isn’t here” message.

So how do I solve this?

You can either write a new blog post, or change the settings to display a static page – but you’ll need to actually have a page written beforehand.
