I was contemplating the pattern about how sometimes I get too many clients, and how sometimes, I could use a few more. Granted, there are plenty of freelance sites where you can bid for jobs, but it seems likeÂ you have to be either the low bidder (competing with designers in India), or you have to be one of the more popular designers at their site. And naturally, you have to pay a fee to the freelance connection company.

I was thinking about creating a website for this (may do eventually), but as I was browsing through some Facebook pages, I came across the link to build a company page – and you DON’T EVEN NEED a website to make one. So yesterday, I started the club pages – and I already have 5 members.

Naturally, I realize that there’s going to be a lot of methods, rules, and regulations yet to present, and likely to amend down the road. But it’s up and started, so if you want to join, go there now – you’ll need to register for an account with Facebook if you’re not already a member.

You may have tried a few of these:

FreelanceSwitch.com has a job board that you only pay $7.00 per month, and peopleperhour.com has free and two paid listing selections. Another place to look for web design jobs,Â is in forums – I like browsing at Digital Point Forums – but it’s likely you’re competing with 3rd world designers there, too.

Web design directories can supply you with great leads, too. I’ve had some luck with a couple of them, Xemion.com, and DesignFirms.org. Other design directories (free listings) I use (or should use) include:

Then there’s Craigslist, but I have had zero chance at securing any sort of lead through them – I’m sure you can relate if you’ve tried it there.
