While browsing through some popular Delicious.com bookmarks, I came across a post from Web Designer Wall, Using HTML Symbol Entities. And being a real fan of these special HTML symbols, I decided to make a chart for the more design savvy ASCII characters.
You’ll want to see this, and possibly bookmark it – the characters are blown up to 48 pixels, so you can see all the detail. I’ve also included the HTML markup, so it’s convenient to just grab whatever you need for your project.
Here’s a few samples:
Using a font size of 48 pixels:

ive had trouble with some browser not supporting them or older browsers having squares… are these unicode symbols that will show everywhere or is it like the webdings font and it will break in some places?
I doubt that these characters are browser dependent; you may be referring to when they are entered into a word or a text document. And these are NOT font family styles, they are just the same as typing out letters or numbers from a keyboard. But they do depend on font styles, (as do letters and numbers) as you can see on the ASCII characters page, those at the bottom are font-family: Times New Roman, Times, serif

All the signs are looking awesome in this post but they are not looking so good when I used them in Twitter
It’s like I said – these are in size 48 pixel font size. That’s 4 times the font size used at Twitter, of which we have no control.

Interesting to read. I had a problem before. It is that before installing MS Word after formatting my PC, I visited my site. I was really sad to see the fonts in my site at that time(before installing the Word). I asked lot of friends about how to get my site fonts back. they noticed that I haven’t installed Word yet and pointed me that. I installed and viewed my site later. Looked really happy then.
MS Word doesn’t have anything to do with fonts for websites. It all depends on the fonts that are installed on your hard drive, whither or not they’re visible for viewing on a website.
