Especially for “Newbies” to the Internet, there are PLENTY of come-on websites for making money online. 95% of these companies present alluring messages promising you instant gratification but their main intention is to sell information products that you could get for free - if you know how to search for it.

I found this article after reading this (great entrepreneur marketing info) PDF document, “Cover Your Assets,” by Paul Meyers from talkbiznews.com.

I rate Paul’s site as a 5 star information website; he will guide you toward success in most any online or off-line venture. As I find others, I will post them here, too. Just browse through my Marketing tagged blogs.

[TalkBiz News] is one of the best reads in any arena, especially if you are interested in marketing online.

What I glean most from Paul’s newsletter is the psychology of marketing and business. He dives well beneath the surface glitz and gets to the root of things: why people do what they do.

When you learn the bottom line principles that Paul so willingly and expertly shares, I guarantee you’ll see a significant change in how you approach your business and how successful your business is. He has a sharp wit and his humorous approach is a refreshing change of pace to the tired, personality-less character of most newsletters. I highly recommend TalkBiz News.

Do you use a Myspace page to promote your services? I know of some companies that don’t even have a website; they use their myspace page to display their company.

The Myspace free advertising through-your-connections has proven to be effective especially for small local companies. When you want to promote a special event or service, just post a bulletin and/or send out personal messages. You should also have a catchy graphic display to leave in your friends’ comment column. This will attract others to visit your page.

FYI: Make sure that you describe your business and have a link to your business website - links to your media support will also help. If you want to use templates (I recommend this) for your page , make sure that your content is still readable - stay away from the dark backgrounds unless you’re into morbid content.

So do I have a Myspace page? You bet I do - I have two; one for business and one for fun and I advertise my services at both of them.

If you think that MySpace is just a fad for the 20-something texting set, think again. Literally millions of members have set up a free MySpace page, so it’s worth the effort to capitalize on the buzz of social networking, though advertising there naturally costs money.

Luke J. Bodley, president of Colorado-based Vibrant Promotions, runs MySpace.com marketing campaigns on a daily basis for his clients. We tracked him down to get him to offer some tips and tricks to help you tap the power of the social networking craze.
