A Designer's Guide to HTML Symbol Entities ⓥⓘⓢⓘⓣ ⓜⓨ ⓑⓛⓞⓖ

Use these ASCII characters for Twitter, Facebook. MySpace, and more ... ٩(̾●̮̮̃̾•̃̾)۶ __̴ı̴̴̡̡̡ ̡͌l̡̡̡ ̡͌l̡*̡̡ ̴̡ı̴̴̡ ̡̡͡|̲̲̲͡͡͡ ̲▫̲͡ ̲̲̲͡͡π̲̲͡͡ ̲̲͡▫̲̲͡͡ ̲|̡̡̡ ̡ ̴̡ı̴̡̡ ̡͌l̡̡̡̡.

Some characters, such as the less than and greater than signs, are used specifically within HTML markup. But you can also display ascii charactersthese characters as text; simply enter the HTML entity code in your page markup. For example, to display the less than sign (<), you need to enter < - the entity name, or < - the entity number. Below I am listing a few of symbol entities that can be used in layout design.

just copy & paste any of these just as if they were letters - DOUBLE CLICK TO SELECT

You might notice an increase the size of these symbols from the more conventional size of 12 pixels, to 48 pixels. I did this so you can truly see the full details. And a few of these characters have color added to show the common style of the symbol. ENJOY!

Alt codes reference chartFor all of you Windows users out there, you know much of a pain it can be to memorize dozens of alt codes, some of which you don't use often. Today I came across a great resource: a single page ALT codes reference sheet. I've had this less than 6 hours and have already referred to it several times so I felt as though this needed to be shared. Click on the image to the left or the link below to visit the website with the ALT codes reference sheet.
